Dates:
Please pay close attention to our arrival and departure windows. This will help your arrival go smoothly, and it will also help us by grouping our many arrivals into just one trip or two trips to the airport. GRP Staff will pick you up / drop you off from the airport during the time windows explained below.
For arrival, please email Lauren to coordinate flight times before booking. For general staff training arrival you should plan to fly in on May 31st between 12 - 5pm. (Unless you are international staff! If so, please check dates here.)
For Mentors, LG, and WFA, email Lauren directly.
For departure, please book a time that leaves no earlier than Friday, August 8th at 12pm. You can be guaranteed a ride to the airport on Friday, August 8th. Rides will be coordinated to depart camp at approximately 9:30am to either of our recommended airports and will take between 1-1.5 hrs to arrive at either.
Can I arrive at a different time?
We will have staff available to pick you up and drop you off only at the times above. Please try to fit your travel plans into those times. Outside of those times, we may not have anyone to assist you (they’ll be traveling to/from camp as well!) so you would need to provide your own transportation. We also will not be ready to host you before that time, so you would need to provide your own housing until we have the staff to come fetch you.
How will I communicate my flight plans?
We require you email us with your travel plans before booking. You will also complete a form on your CampInTouch account called the Vehicle & Travel Form. Complete this form and be sure to include all flight information. That’s all you need to do. You will hear from us about one week prior to your travel to confirm your pick-up plan and connect you with your pick-up person so that you have their contact information.
What airport?
We will pick you up from the airport, and you technically have two choices. That said, it is easiest to pick up everyone from one location, so we prefer you fly into Asheville Airport (AVL). An alternative is the Greenville-Spartanburg International Airport (GSP).
Option #1: Asheville Regional Airport (AVL)
*We prefer this option.
Option #2: Greenville-Spartanburg International Airport (GSP)
*This option is often more affordable for our international staff.
